Position Overview:
The Content Marketing Specialist is responsible for planning, writing, and delivering high-quality marketing content that supports demand generation, brand awareness, and customer engagement. This role creates original content—including blog posts, case studies, email copy, and social media assets—and also adapts existing materials, such as podcast episodes or webinars, into channel-specific content as needed.
The specialist ensures consistent messaging, maintains brand voice, and collaborates closely with marketing stakeholders to produce content that aligns with campaign goals and resonates with target audiences.
Position Holder is Accountable For:
End-to-End Content Development
Creates original written content across formats: blog posts, customer stories, email campaigns, social media posts, newsletters, landing pages, product copy, and more.
Ensures all content aligns with strategic marketing priorities, editorial guidelines, and brand voice.
Translates complex topics into clear, engaging, audience-aligned messaging.
Content Repurposing & Optimization
Adapts long-form or raw source material (e.g., podcast episodes, webinars, interviews, transcripts) into derivative content such as blogs, emails, social posts, and thought leadership pieces.
Extracts key insights, themes, and narratives to expand content reach across channels.
Refines and optimizes existing content based on performance metrics, SEO priorities, or campaign goals.
Customer Story & Case Study Creation
Writes customer case studies, testimonials, and success stories based on interviews or internal notes.
Shapes compelling narratives that highlight customer challenges, solutions, and measurable outcomes.
Maintains and updates customer-focused collateral as new information becomes available.
Channel-Aligned Messaging
Tailors content structure, tone, and format to match channel expectations (SEO-friendly blogs, high-conversion email copy, concise social posts, etc.).
Aligns messaging with buyer personas, customer journey stages, and campaign objectives.
Maintains consistent brand identity across all content touchpoints.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Works closely with demand generation, social media, product marketing, and sales teams to gather inputs and ensure content accuracy and relevance.
Supports campaign planning by contributing content ideas and identifying opportunities across channels.
Participates in marketing meetings to ensure content efforts are aligned with broader initiatives.
Editorial Quality & Content Governance
Owns editing, proofreading, and quality assurance to maintain a high standard of clarity, accuracy, and brand consistency.
Manages updates to content based on stakeholder feedback, new product information, or evolving messaging.
Helps maintain content libraries, templates, and documentation for team-wide access.
Required Skills and Competencies:
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism, English, or a related field preferred.
Minimum 3 years of experience in content marketing, copywriting, editorial roles, or similar positions—ideally within a B2B or technology-oriented environment.
Experience in the healthcare market preferred.
Additional Skills:
Proven ability to write clear, compelling, customer-centric content across multiple formats.
Strong storytelling, editing, and synthesis skills, with ability to convert complex topics into accessible narratives.
Experience repurposing long-form content (podcasts, interviews, webinars) into written assets.
Familiarity with SEO principles, digital marketing best practices, and channel-specific writing.
Excellent project management skills with the ability to juggle multiple deadlines and prioritize effectively.
High attention to detail and strong commitment to content quality and accuracy.
Comfortable collaborating with cross-functional teams and incorporating feedback into content revisions.
Strong research skills—able to gather information from SMEs, transcripts, or product materials and translate it into compelling content.
Ability to travel around 10% (for team meetings, industry events, etc.) depending on business needs.
The estimated annual base salary for this position is $65,000 to $70,000. Please note that this range does not include any other compensation or benefits that an individual may be eligible for. The salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, level of education attained, and/or professional certifications, years of relevant experience, special skills, etc.
